We had an awful night last night and this morning. Nath woke up at about 3 this morning to go to the toilet and he spotted a bug on the bed. When he checked under my pillow he saw quite a few of them!! We turned the light on and started to look about the bed and kept spotting more of them! It was awful! We didn't have a clue what to do! Nath went downstairs to the so called 24 hour desk, but the worker was asleep on a camp bed. To be honest, I just wanted to sleep so killed all the ones I could see and laid back down! It was hard trying to get back to sleep though, nothing we could do at that time though.
When we got up in the morning Nath went down and told them and they came up straight away. It was like they knew what it was- either they had had it before or they were just been cautious! It was definitely bed bug though and I had been bit a couple of times. They took the whole beds apart in the room, everything, washed and disinfected everything and sprayed it all with bug spray to hopefully get rid of them! Totally dampened our mood though! Didn't help that Nath has been unwell with an infection, that we now think has developed into a urine infection as well- so wasn't great! It hasn't been getting better, but we have been to the pharmacy and got tablets. He is going to give it until the beginning of next week, which will have been quite a while since everything first started and if it hasn't got better, we will have to brace the doctors in Vietnam!!
We didn't get out until noon so just went and sat near the river on a bench and watched the world go by! Nath noticed too often for our liking that people driving past kept looking at us. We couldn't work out why at all. It could have been that we both looked like we were going to the beach with our flips on, Nath with shorts and vest and me with denim shorts and a strap top! Still though, it was 30 odd degrees. Some people even laughed us! What is going on and why does this keep happening?!
I ended up changing before we went for lunch as I felt too paranoid and to be honest I was sick of been looked at! Maybe we were just too good looking!! Haha! We sat at a restaurant on the other side of the river front for lunch and munched out on some good old English food! Pizza, burgers, chips, onion rings! Yum!
After lunch, which was more like dinner, we walked up and down the riverfront and then sat to watch the sun set over the streets. People still walked past and looked at us and some still had a smile/laugh to themselves so god knows what it was! We were lost for ideas- it had only happened here! Maybe we looked young? Or we just looked funny? We have no idea!
We relaxed in the room for the rest of night and didn't see any sign of bugs so fingers crossed! We made a pot noodle for our dinner, got our bags packed to go to Vietnam and watched a film before bed! Can't believe we are going to Vietnam in the morning! Time is going so quick!!
