Leaving Chiang Mai we took a bus journey upto Chiang Khong, where we stayed just one night before crossing the border over to Laos. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this little place was. It wouldn't be somewhere you could stay for a week as there's not much to do, but we got lovely views of the Mekong river from our hotel balcony and it was really cheap! With great advise from the owner she helped us organise our Laos visa.

Taking a long bus we arrived in Chiang Mai very late, only with the luck of the tuk tuk driver not being able to find our guesthouse he managed to wake the owner and get us a room for the night. Chiang mai is very different from the south,there's no beaches to chill out on we were in for a full few days of action. Firstly we went to Tiger kingdom. Landed in Bangkok from Sri Lanka still very ill. Booked into our last hotel here on Koh San road, and thought to sleep it off. After 3 more days we decided it was time for the hospital. We had caught a bad bug and needed antibiotics as well as a couple other tablets, but just after one was already feeling the benefits :)

Only having one night in Phuket we didn't get to see too much. But we did stay in the best hotel the lemongrass. After slumming it in the cheapest hotel in phi phi it was nice to be in real comfort for the night :)

Finally after 14 hours, three buses, three boats and totally hungover we arrive at Phi Phi. On our first day we just looked round the island and lay on the beach.
