Taking a long bus we arrived in Chiang Mai very late, only with the luck of the tuk tuk driver not being able to find our guesthouse he managed to wake the owner and get us a room for the night. Chiang mai is very different from the south, there's no beaches to chill out on we were in for a full few days of action. Firstly we went to Tiger kingdom. The babies were so cute but a little to playful, the keepers warned us as they are only young their not used to people and can some times bite! Luckily we were fine. The bigger ones were much scarier the utter size of them is unnerving, as you stroke their bellies and rest your head on them. An amazing experience we will never forget. The day after we trekked into the jungle, swam in a waterfall, took a ride on an elephant, caught an old cable car across the river and white water rafted. By the end of the day we were exhausted but well worth it. Also in Chiang Mai we went " squirrel jumping" as it's called, jumping from the large trees harnessed to cables. This was great fun and well organised. The lantern festival was on whilst we where here, lighting the whole city in the night. If you go to Thailand Chiang Mai is definitely a place to go.
