We wanted to see a few of the sites around the city today. A popular option is to hire a motorbike driver for the day who will take you around for a fee of around $20. Having seen what the tours offered, we decided over the two-three days we are staying in Dalat, we would be able to visit most of the sites by foot. So we set off walking outside of the main city centre. En-route we stopped for breakfast and coffee, Rachael managed to get locked in the toilet. After half an hour of banging she was rescued by one of the girls who worked there, she prised the door open with a knife.
We walked to the south of the city, via the mock Eiffel tower (actually a telecomms tower) and rode a cable car to a small village on the side of a dammed lake created in 1980. The village was really nice and focused around a Buddhist temple/garden. We wandered around for an hour or so taking photos then returned on the cable car and walked back to the room.
Feeling pretty tired from all the walking and with Rachael full of a cold we decided on an early night, ready for more sight seeing tomorrow.
