So its the day of the big trip and we're not too confident of how well this is going to go...... Tom was still persistent on the bus option but with no sign we boarded the pick-up, well that's not strictly true, we waited 45 minutes until the 25 people it could cram in arrived (this is on one normal Toyota pick-up).
The first journey went fine and around an hour later we arrived for our "connection". Good news the guy was waiting with his van for us, but we were the only ones there, and these stupid things don't set off till their full! Thinking the guy must be expecting a bus load of other people we sat in the pick-up for about an hour. We asked when we would set off he simply replied "I don't no". Eh? "There must be 6 more people". We were in the middle of no where, where on earth would 6 more people turn up from?
Giving it another 30 minutes (1.5 hours now we'd been still) we confronted the guy and insisted in an approximate time. He said an hour, we waited......
Aside from this its stopped raining and the sun has come out for the first time in days.
We spent the hour weighing up our options, thinking of alternative ways to get there, obviously the guy would go if we paid for all six seats but that wasn't going to happen, Tom walked around the village asking for a Taxi service but prices were far too high, we had no options, we had to wait.
The hour past (2.5 hours now, stuck in the middle of nowhere) and still no sign. Then after 2 hours 45 minutes of waiting a Japanese guy turned up in pick-up and away we went. What should have been 2 hours took 6 and a lot of stress! 8.6 kph, we could have walked.
