So we managed to move on to the hostel at the second attempt as they "had no record of our booking" even though we saw the guy write it down last night.
This time we were more in the centre so it made things easier although we soon found there wasn't much to see anyway. As it turns out most people who visit this town only do so to visit Fraser island, just off the coast, so we went to look at the options. Surprise, surprise it was too expensive, but to be fair you really didn't get much for your money. Two nights stay in a hostel on the island, ferry over and 4x4 minibus guide with 14 others for £200, its a bit of a shame to miss it but its too expensive. We are planning to visit Stradbrooke Island outside Brisbane instead, an old couple who live their told is it was very nice back in Townsville.
In the afternoon Rachael managed to grab a kip while Tom hammered the lengths in the pool. For tea we went to one of the parks with our BBQ kit and some Lamb ribs off the Whoops shelf at Woolworths, worked really well, even managed to heat some spagetti on the grill.
