So we grabbed breakfast and put the finishing touches to our treking plan for this morning. None of the maps have a scale, madness really and made planning a little harder than it should have been.
We set off on the trail 9A which would take us past a waterfall, through the jungle and back on the main road where we'd either walk 9km back to town or catch the bus.
The trail was really fun, not too difficult but had to climb over enough obstacles to feel as though we were testing ourselves a little. We walked through the town, through dense forestry for an hour or so down the hill then landed in a farm at the bottom. We sat and had a cup of the local tea waiting for the bus to arrive.
After about half an hour the bus pulled up we jumped on. We were really happy with ourselves and said we'd call it a day for today but do some more trails tomorrow, our new fitness plan!
In the evening we met up with the Polish girls who'd since made friends with a Dutch couple. It turns out they hitched down a pick-up in the afternoon as they were stuck in the middle of nowhere and the couple who'd picked them up drove them around the Highlands. They went from site to site with the Malaysian honeymooners in the 4x4 and were joining them for dinner so we went along. It was a lovely evening, the Malaysian couple gave us tips of things to see in Malaysia, food to try and places to visit. As there's not much to do here in the evenings, after dinner (the third Indian in two days) we headed back to the guesthouse for an early night.
