Got up ready to walk to the pick up point for the California Highlights tour. It's with Contiki. There are around 45 other people on this tour for the week. We met our tour guide who is in charge of us all. His name is Jason. He ran through the itinerary for the week and gave us the chance to sign up for excusions and activities that are on offer throughout the tour. We loaded our bags onto the coach and set off leaving Las Vegas. We travelled the whole day with regular stops along the way. To get to know everyone on the tour we played a game and had to write down 2 true things about yourself and 1 false thing and then everyone had to guess which thing about yourself was false. We arrived around 6pm at our first stop Bass Lake Pine Resort where we are staying here for 2 nights. It's up in the mountains and located right by a lake. We were all put into chalets of 4 people. I am staying in a chalet with 3 australian girls who are really nice. In the evening we all had a party to get to know each other with pizza and alcohol. Everyone was signing each others T Shirts. People on the tour come from the UK, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. There are a good mixture of different people on this tour. It's very easy to make new friends. I think it's going to be a fun filled week with lots of things to do and see.
