We decided on two destinations for our week in Bali, first was Ubud. This sprawling town set amidst lots of rice paddies was really nice. Not a great deal to do apart from walk around the surrounding area and enjoy the many restaurants and cafes. For lunch one of the restaurants specialises in Bali's Babi Guling, whole roasted pig stuffed with Balinese chilli paste, it was amazing. After a few days we took the boat accross to Nusa Lembongan, an island in between Bali and Lombok which has great diving. I finished off my Advanced course and we went of our last dives of the trip. Luck was on our side and we saw the Mola-Mola fish which people come for the chance to dive with. It's about 2.5m long (and equally as tall) and is possibly the strangest fish I have ever seen, we were able to get 15 minutes with it which is apparently very good. The next day luck was with us once again as the swell was down meaning we were able to get to the dive site called 'Manta Point', a Manta Ray cleaning station, we saw three of the huge animals and a Nurse Shark. A great end to our diving.
For our last day we headed back to the mainland to visit the new safari park which had been recommended to us by some fellow travellers. We found our way on a motorbike again and went on safari seeing loads more animals than we expected and watching shows and other events, very touristy but really well run and worth the entrance money alone to get our photo taken holding a baby orangutan! Unfortunately we still have problems with our photo's so we'll have to wait till we're home to upload them.
Today we fly to K.L for our last 5 days before heading home...
