While I was idly checking the itinery from Jetstar I noticed that we didn't have any checked baggage! OK I will purchase some but then the credit card was maxed out after paying the second installment of the Vietnam tour bill. So, a simple matter to transfer some funds? No, not an instant transfer but might take up to 24 hours. Gulp! Our flight leaves in LESS than 24 hours! Tried PayPal, that didn't work either! Finally I remembered that I had a Travelex card. Success! Now our suitcases were travelling with us. Now for the Credit Card. managed to get some cash from the ATM (another bank) and deposited it in our credit card account. Looking much better. Then the original transfer came through and we were OK.

Flew to Melbourne and discovered that our flight to Singapore was not going at 12:20 as advertised but at 17:20 due to engineering problems! Decided that we might visit Claire at Deakin Uni so hired a car and spent the next 30 mins listening to how the girl at the counter was having such a bad day " I mean you just have days like this. Everyone has been so unhappy today. i just wish that the week was over so I could go home and come back on Monday for a fresh start" We were thinking, Why don't you just attend to our rental request and stop whinging! Drove out to Burwood and we picked up Claire who was almost ready at 12:00PM and went to a nice pasta restaurant in Kew. After that we dropped Claire back and returned to the airport. we needn't have rushed as our flight was further delayed. Question, what do you do when you have to fill out the Outgoing Passenger Card and you don't have a pen. We seemed to have one on the Hobart Melbourne Flight but it seemed to get lost somewhere in between!

It looked like there had been chains and pens there at some stage but all that remained now was a screw and the end of a piece of chain!

Eventually borrowed one from a kind fellow passenger and even returned it to her later on so that we could actually leave the country.

2 Beers down and still waiting. Could be a long night! Maybe we won't need the airport hotel in Singapore after all!
