Wake up earlier today, at 9:30am and get ready and pack my stuff away, including all my new stuff! If I buy anymore I definitely won't be able to fit it in my bag. Collect our clean laundry from yesterday and have breakfast at our hostel's restaurant again. We'd planned to have a pancake for breakfast but no street food places are doing pancakes yet :(
Check out at 12 and book our 2 nights accommodation on Koh Tao and 3 nights accommodation on Koh Phangan. We drop our bags off at the travel place we are going to Koh Tao with tonight.
We decide to walk to the Golden Mount but when we finally get there (in the heat) a Tuk Tuk driver tells us it's closed, wahh!
Similar to what Rikka did last year, he takes us on a cheap tour of Bangkok, the only catch is that you have to go into some tailors.
First we go to see the Lucky Budha (only open to the public once per year) and a man inside shows us how to pray. As we're praying I try so hard not to burst out laughing as each time I bow down my sunglasses almost fall off my head! We didn't stay long :) next we head to a tailors but we can't look around without paying so we politely decline and leave, awkward...
Go to the next series of temples are shown on the 5baht coins. Very pretty buildings, impressive! Only hang around for 5 minutes and then go back to the Tuk Tuk. On out way to the next place we see a Komodo dragon walking down the street and then into a drain haha, it was MASSIVE!
Next we have to visit 2 lots of tailors, but we are told that we have to spend at least 7 minutes at each so that the Tuk Tuk driver can get a petrol ticket (that's what makes the tour so cheap). The first is really cute and we are taken around by a lady who explains the different products to us, think we were there for about 20 mins. The second place was weird and we just stalled looking through magazines until our 7 minutes was up.
We then go to visit the Giant Budha followed by the Golden Mount which is now open. There is a big storm over Bangkok when were up the mount but we aren't in it, so just can watch the storm from a far, quite cool! Looked like something from the end of the world...
Walk back to Kaosan road and buy our last few things (including a bag to fit everything in). We go to the travel place to wait for our bus and at 6:15 we are taken to the bus and given a "Koh Tao" sticker so they know where we need to get off.
As we set off there is lots of leg room and we watch "White House Down" which was a really good film - I'll watch it again once home with sound instead of subtitles :) the next movie comes on and I fall asleep. I wake up feeling trapped as the guy in front has reclined his seats and now there is ZERO leg room :( go to sleep (uncomfortably) to try to speed the journey up.
