"I think I'll have my self a beer..."
Woo hoo! Beer beer beer, bed bed bed! After a very average sleep on the night train we hit the ground flat out. Trekked out to Jills friends Annette and Martins dropped our bags and came back into town. I brought my self a rocking pair of leiderhosen so I fitted in with all the locals, some awesome bratwurst and walked to the oktoberfest grounds. It's like the royal show but replace the show bags with litres of beer. The tents/beer halls are just huge. I mean they look like warehouses full of tables and people. They are almost all drunk too. Then they have balconies and stages for the band. Being the middle of the week it was easy enough to get a table and start to booze on. Some locals took us tent hoping on the first day and the beers went down all to easy. The 1/2 chicken traditional lunch didn't taste to bad either. Into the night things got more messy but we made it home in one piece.
Next day, well was much the same. Different tents maybe but still more beer, more food and more locals. Martin took us in this time. By half way though the second day my leiderhosen was stained with beer and chicken fat but that's ok. Its how they are ment to look. And you can't wash them. We drank until the night again before we all wanted some drunk food and bed.
On Saturday we decided that we should go one last time and see some of Martins friends who had a prime table in his and as it turns out my favourite beer tent. On the balcony over looking the mess of the masses. Busiest day at the whole festival and you could tell. Best food in the Hacker and Pschorr tent. Combined with the best beer made the last day the best.
Sober again today and I'm done. No more beers. Not for a while anyway. I'm also hanging for a meal that's something other than meat and bread.
