Hi to all.
We are now in Athens having zapped thru Rome in 1 1/2 days!
I am exhausted!
We had a great location near the main train terminal and walked to see the Colleseum and Forum just down the road then had a lovely drink of Sangria to celebrate Rome them off we went to see the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain plus some important churches.
I was so sore and tired when we got back about 10 pm.
Yesterday was no better as we went early out of town to 2 Catacomb complexes. The bus driver forgot to tell us where to get off so we had to walk back. Then off to see the Pantheon, Tomb of Unknown Soldier, leather jacket shopping for Courtney, Apple store shopping for me ( iPod playing up) and finally we hobbled into St Peter's Sq to have a look. Rang out of time to go in - next time!
It was pouring with rain this AM but
got to the airport ok despite train delays. Then there was a train/ metro strike in Greece do had to get the bus in to here.
So far it seems nice, not as historic as Rome.
Off to the Acropolis tmw.
