Hi all,
Well I have finished the 3 rd day if 11 walking around Mt Blanc from France to Italy to Switzerland and back to France.
We are in Italy now!
I came a day early and went into the nearby tourist town of Chaminox and up 2 long scary gondola car rides 1000m's up the Mt. Then I took a little gondola 5 km across a glacier over glaciers to a peak in Italy.
We could see people climbing Mt
Blanc. Beautiful day
I went to some of the observation decks but some had exposed walkways so I couldn't do them.
I also went in an old train up to a glacier, got a horrendous cable car to the bottom of the glacier where there is a great ice cave dug out to visit,
I walked back up the stairs!
We started walking 3 days ago, the 1st 2 mainly in the rain, but today was fabulous. Frost on the ground too today.
Lots of uphill !
We have a rest day on the 5th day!
Then 7 days in a row with no break.
Nice group , all UK's.
4th day finished now. Some uphill and a b---y lot of downhill! Knees sore and my toes too. I have only one normal toe nail!
Most are falling off!
Tired today after a bad nights sleep.
Stressing to about not being able to contact Mum properly for days when things are going so badly over there.
Won't do much on the rest day tmw!!
