Day 2 of the 3 week Batam to Komodo adventure... Woke up this morning to a warm light entering the pop up window above my head. The boat was still moving, rolling gently on the sea. The soothing hum of the engine in the background. Feeling fresh after a great sleep I slipped on my sarong and headed up on deck to check out the surroundings. By this time we had been traveling Almost 12 hours straight... What I saw was vast blue emptiness melting into the horizon. It's was beautiful. I felt a sense of adventure mixed with excitement from the simple thought that this trip is a once in a lifetime opportunity.. To cross the south china sea and go beyond. A hot cup of coffee, my 'lost on planet china' book, and a few stretches later I was totally relaxed lying in the warm sun.. The cool breeze whilst flooding my head with ideas of the future. Total bliss!

It's now 9:45pm and we have now been traveling for 26 hours straight! (apart from a brief 1/2 hr swim when we cut the engines and jumped into the blue to cool off!)

We are told that we will Be reaching our island destinations by roughly 12am this morning. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.. I'm in holiday mode.. Sleep, read, eat repeat! Oh yeah baby!

I have decided to use this trip as a bit of an alcoholic detox. I have come to a realization I have probably not had ONE single day where I haven't drank in SIX months! Ridiculous! So I am hanging up my boozy ways and attempting to abstain from alcohol for 21 days :) it's been 2 and I have succeeded thus far! 19 days to go! ? !

The only change in scenery today was 1) huge bait balls going crazy in the morning and 2) at around 6:30 the temperature dropped dramatically and the wind picked up and down came the rain! The sea is still flat. The breeze is nice and the sound of the rain is making awfully sleepy.

On that note. Good night.. Tomorrow morning we will see land and get underwater! Looking forward to it!

Oh just got a drip in my nose.. :/ let's hope it's my Imagination!
