We hitched a ride with Laura & Lucy from Cairns, which is technically illegal having 5 people in a 2 person van but it was good fun and everybody does it out here. We arrived A-okay and stayed at a place called Scotty's. The only reason we came here was to skydive as it is rated as the best place in aus to do it. Apart from sit around a pool all we did here was skydive and watch movies.

Skydiving - my instructor was an ex-russian special forces who had done over 8000 dives so i was in good hands. He was asleep when we got on the bus and he didn't practice what to do with me, he merely told me what to do moments before the jump. It took 20 min plane journey to get to 14,000 feet when the doors opened and we shuffled out one by one. The only time i was slightly nervous was sitting on the edge of the plane. The first few seconds of the jhump i had no idea where i was or what i was doing but when we got onto our front hands went out and started shouting. On the video i got you can see i'm clearly buzzing fromm the adrenaline. We went through a cloud which was a bit prickly but as we emerged we had a spectaular view of mission beach and the little islands off the coast. As the parachute went up we did loads of 360 spins in the air for a good panoramic view before landing on the beach.
