Woke up early for our 10 hour drive.
Yep thats not including truck stops or lunch. It was a really long day.
BUT what I would put alongside the mototaxi in terms of amazingness and highlights of my life - where we pitched up for lunch, there was this family of monkeys just in the trees next to us. They were so adorable and the only monkeys we have seen have been quite far away. These ones... you could feed!
You hold out the banana and they slowly come over to you and will even dangle on thei tails to reach you. But they dont snatch it and run like youd expect, they just gently take it out of your hands! and then they sit back up to eat. Its unbelievably cute and you can get so close. Awwwwww
Anyway we drove to Foz do Iguazu to our hostel - no tents to pitch yay! And found table tennis, pool, computers (which im on) movie room (which i will use tomorrow) and hot showers. Im very impressed. However we were supposed to go to the Caberet show last night which is loads of south american culture in the form of music and dance etc and a BIG buffet. like apparantly its amazing.
Anyway it starts at 8 so when we arrived at quarter to we thought we were good. However Heinz forgot that after travelling 10 hours across Brazil, we~d found a time change. One hour forward. Considering the cook team (which i think was me) hadnt been shopping because we werent supposed to be cooking, most of us just bought burgers at the hostel bar. A few people chose to save money and cook some pasta (the truck always has basic food) simply because we really should be paying extra for food at all. I surprisingly did not feel at all like pasta and the burgers were extemely cheap so i just had that.
I actually wrote most of this blog yesterday in the FREEZING cold however this stupido computer cut out on me so if this doesnt sound enthusiastic, its because ive already written it!
