Once checked in we got ready and headed down to the town centre to get some food. Dha Lat is a lot cooler than Ho Chi Minh, I decided on jeans and a jumper. James decided on shorts and t-shirt. It took about an hour for
James to say he was freezing. I'm surprised it took that long! We looked around the markets and had a beer in the street food area, sat on children's chairs.
The next day we got up early and hired a couple of mopeds. After half an hour James' brakes had completely stopped working. I rode his bike back and decided to go for just the one bike as there were no more to hire. We got a
little lost as our map was rubbish and the road signs are non existent. We decided to visit a waterfall first. We ended up going to the wrong one, its was more like a stream. Lovely stream though. After a little walk around
there we got our bearings and headed to the original waterfall. It was a good distance away with some bendy roads. This one was far better. They had elephants to ride, but they used seats which is cruel, so we decided to leave that for Thailand.
We headed back to the city and had a drink next to the massive lake. In the evening we took a walk down to the market again for dinner. Learning from his mistake James wrapped up warm this time.
In the morning we got up late since our bus didn't leave until midday. Had some breakfast and got picked up from the hotel. The bus was our first experience of a Vietnamese sleeper bus. The beds in this one weren't much bigger than the one in Hong Kong so I struggled for space. James once again reminded me we were with his people now. The bus was running on Vietnamese time which is the same as Cambodian time, ie. always a couple of hours late.
After an 8 hour bus journey we got to Nha Trang. We got a taxi to the
hotel. The driver tried to charge us 100000 dong when the meter said 35000. We gave him 35000 and walked into our hotel.
