When we got dropped off at the hotel I was starving so took a walk, we found nothing but street food - patio chairs put out the side of the road with a movable kitchen. I ate, James feeling still a bit rough didn't risk it. Although he stole some of mine.
The first day in Siem Reap was a bit of a write off as we'd decided not to do much. By 4pm we'd found a street correctly named pub street. We stayed in one bar for a good few hours drinking 25p beer talking to different people that sat on the tables around us. We ate our favourite Cambodian dish (pizza) and took a walk around the night markets.
The second day we got a tuktuk to a floating town. When we got there they tried to charge $30 dollars each. We'd read that it should cost $10. After some heated words we agreed to pay $15 for our own private tour. The boat took around 40mins. We toured the towns floating on a massive lake and stopped off at a shop/restaurant. They had loads of crocodiles in a big cage. James wasn't very amused when I attempted to lift him in, the locals found it funny though. There were local kids running around the shops with snakes, so we decided not to spend to long there.
We went back to the hotel and ordered a takeaway pizza. The woman on the other end of the phone must of been stupid because she didn't understand me which was fine but I explained what we wanted to the guy on reception and even he had difficulty ordering for us. Eventually the pizzas were delivered and they were awesome.
The next day we went to Angkor Wat. It's outside the city so we hired a tuktuk for the day. On the way to Angker Wat the tuktuk hit a girl on a moped. Not surprising really as traffic is insane. There is no difference between the left and right hand side of the roads. People drive in the direction they wish and don't care what side. Makes both driving and crossing the roads very dangerous. We went round Angkor Wat which is a breathtaking place.
The last day we booked the bus to the next city, Battambang. Walked around the city. We managed to stumble across a private cinema. Since we hadn't seen Skyfall yet we booked a couple of tickets. The cinema consists of loads of small rooms with comfy chairs with the image projected on the screen. The copy we saw wasn't genuine but good enough to watch. We got some street food after as it was late and headed back to hotel.
In the morning we checked out. The guy on reception said we hadn't paid for the room although we had paid online. After a while of us trying to communicate to him that we've already paid and not paying again with help from a local our lift turned up and we left without paying again. It can be a common scam in Cambodia to do this. We got dropped off at the bus station. The bus was an hour late but not surprising as Cambodians don't rush. After an uneventful bus journey we arrived at Battambang.
