Finally a well deserved blog post!!
so last weekend from friday 5th to sunday 7th a group of us all went up north to the worlds largest sand island for the weekend. there were me and kirsty, sammy (lives with us), codey and jess (lives with us) and also jess's friends tessa and cherish.
Friday morning we were up and set off up north, it took us 3 hours to drive to the town where we were picking up the rental 4x4. after we got that we headed for the little boat that took us over to fraser.
once we touched ground we were at the very south of the island so we headed north up the beach for a cruise. we got to a little town and setup the bbq late afternoon because we had to wait for the tide to drop so we could continue north to the first campsite. it got to about 7 o'clock and we decided to chance it. it was pitch black rainy and windy , lets just say it sure was an experiance and a mission getting to our campsite, brilliant laugh!
well we made it and setup camp for the nite ready for the next day.
saturday morning we were up and ready to head further north to a place called Indian heads which was just a big cliff realy but the views from the top were amazing. we got some pics and then headed off to a realy smart enclosure from the sea called champagne pools for a dip to cool off.
once we were cooled off we had a look at the map and found a nice in land track to take us to our campsite which was called central station. we took the inland track and made it thier alot earlier than friday night so it was still light outside which realy helped when it came to pitching the tents. but guess what , it only decided to piss down all night and it was only sammys tent that didnt get wet ! besides that it was still really good. had a few beers, spag bol, ceneral chit chat then bed.
sunday morning was still miserable haha. we were all wet from sleeping in wet tents, everything was wet and horrible but we started the cookers and made a nice sunday fry up and some coffees for everyone. we left the campsite and hit the road again to go to lake mckenzie . it was awesome fun there . even though it was still raining at this point we all went in the lake for a good swim about. I bought us a blow up boat which we used on the lake aswell it was so funny. after all this we took a nice drive through the in land tracks until we reached the beach again, then from there we drove back down south to get the boat back across and then that was that.
overall it was such an amazing weekend everyone loved it, no problems both 4x4's performed brilliantly. also pictures are up so check them out!!!
