Finally, we decided on seeing about renting a camper and going somewhere, anywhere as long as we didnt have to stay in a hostel another night. We eventually found a place who gave us a good deal so we took the camper for 8 days and started traveleing. We named him "Wee Mitch" as he was a wee mitsubishi converted van with seats and a table that could convert to a bed at night, he had a wee gas stove and a sink. He was awesome. Our first night we traveled no further than the companies parking spot as:
A: we had no idea where a camping spot is near or around sydney
B: we didnt know how to work the electric for the hairdryer and phone chargers etc.
C: there was an on site shower facility
so after our first night we got ready and set off on our one week adventure up the east coast to brisbane.
we saw and went to a few good places on the drive up. there was an animal sanctury with free running kangaroo that you can pet . we went to a sea life sanctury with cool penguins. we went to a reptile park which was amazing, that place also had free running kangaroo and every reptile you could think of in there aswell as birds etc.
we noticed half way through our journey that we hadnt covered that much ground so one day we done a whole days driving , even the motorways are amazing to drive through. theres always signs saying for alternate sightseeing routes so we went on a few of them while listening to whatever was on playin on the radio in the background. we stopped to stretch our legs at one point and we saw a big family of kangaroo's in the field so we've saw plenty of kangaroo now.
we also saw a big bush fire one night when driving back to one of our caravan parks, everyone was stopping thier cars next to the road to have a nosey, eventually two fire engines flew past us so must have been pretty bad.
eventually we made it to brisbane and suddenly thought, ok were in brisbane now what........
