We slept late to recover from the lack of sleep of the prior day. Packing our bags we headed to our new accommodation we had found the day before and booked. Most of the people who attended the Full Moon Party and opted to stay another day on Koh Pnang to recover would soon flood to Koh Tao and our accommodation options would be severely limited. Heading out to the dive shop we chose our gear for the dive and headed for the longboat, our transit ride to the companies larger boat.
Our instructor explained the dive and where we were planning on going, we met the dive master who would also be joining us. One thing I can say is they really take care of you, only the two of us going out with two guides.
We headed for Mango bay, not the most fish we had seen but then again depends with what you compare it, if with Cape Town, its paradise. On the first dive we were completely encircled by a school of Fusilier fish, all swimming in unison.
We ended the dive and spent the time chatting to the divemaster who had accompanied us on the dive. He was from Chicago, had toured the Americas and was now completing his instructors in Koh Tao. After an hour's surface interval we headed down for the second dive now swimming in an opposite direction. The coral is not connected into one large continual surface but rather broken up and spread over the site with sand in between. We encountered a white eyed moray eel, school of barracudas that swam a short distance with us, butterfly and angel fish. In total our dives was 59 and 46 minutes respectively. We headed back to the island enjoying a cup of coffee and cookies on the boat.
At the dive shop we washed our equipment after which I spoke to one of the instructors to gain a better understanding of the rescue dive course. We headed to the 7/11, bought some water and returned to our room. After a shower, feeling more refreshed, we headed out to town and found a restaurant with a green curry soup and fried green curry both equally divine. Feeling the effects of the diving we enjoyed a TV series before heading to bed.
