We left lumbini at around 8.30 in a very bumpy jeep ride with the crazy driver from yesterday. The hotel is gorgeous with vaguely warm showers and mosquito nets provided over each bed. The four of us ventured out with 4 hours to spare. Such a relaxed place we ambles leisurely around taking in the sights and the peaceful village. We headed down to the end of the road to see what lie at the end. The flowing river with a few bars lining it's edges greeted us at the end making an opportune time for a drink. We then heads back to the hotel for a local walk around the thuru village, it was such a stark contrast to what it wwas likening india. People just carries on with their daily rituals unfathomed by the fact that we were wandering around. We then stopped in at an elephant sanctuary owned by the government to preserve the elephant numbers in the park. Whilst there we saw a gathering of people in the distance so of course we followed. Two rhinos, father and son, lay bathing in the water. This HD taken up time which were palnning on using going to ye sunset location on the rivers edge so we rushed through some dense forest to where we had been sat earlier. A beautiful sunset with a rather fantastic coffee cocktail to accompany it. Happy days.
