So we rise early for the big one. The taj mahal awaits us. Our guide, a funny old guy who I've unfortunately forgotten the name of, takes us via rixkshaws to te entrance. Us all on a heightened uneasy alert we proceed through the security gates (poorly minded) to the court area of the eastern entrance ready to walk through the arch...... Wow. It was just as stunning and beautiful as you'd expect. By being there at 6.45 am we had escaped the busy crowds and saw the clouds break up around it. The only regret i had was not having my slr to capsure some wide shots of it from below. So after taking many stupid shots of each other we carried on back to the hotel to have a invigorating costa! (which sat beneth our hotel - alongside a pizza hut!) nuts. Anyway so we carried on and a few of us took a wander around the streets. Battling with cows, rickshaws, children and sellers. Pete, jen, eve and I then proceeded to go to fatephur Sikri, a stunning deserted town now owned by the government for heritage purposes. After being rained in we headed back to Agra attempting to wade the taxi through the flooded streets. We then went for a quick vegetarian dinner before heading to bed.
