For dinner it was back to Jalon Alor. Ana from the Lazat cooking school recommended that I go to Restoran Sun Chui Yuen (the only restaurant on the street with yellow table cloths) for dinner and try the chicken fish. Being sold by the kilo and not by the dish it may have been the most expensive thing on the menu. The host came by and was almost apologetic, presenting my with an 18 inch long fish with a massive racket sized head and telling me that though it was 6 Ringit per 100 grams that it was very fresh and it would shrink with cooking. He was confident that I could eat it. I reluctantly ordered the fish having no idea how much it weighed. The waiter was right about finishing it. Though the fish was massive I put it down with a side of pan fired pea shoots and a beer. Holy s*** it was good. It tasted like the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. And at $25 for everything it was not breaking the bank. I felt like a king.
