We had a leisurely morning and breakfast (crumpets!) at the Ruffle's, before heading out at around 11am. The three of us, Anna and Jon went to Blackbutt Nature Reserve first, where we saw lots of animals including koala bears and kangaroos! (see pic).

We spent a couple of hours wandering around and looking at the colourful birds and animals before leaving to find some lunch. We went to a nearby patisserie, where I had a really nice tandoori chicken wrap, and then shared a chocolate milkshake and a mud cake slice with Hannah. It was soo good!

After lunch we headed to Bar Beach in Newcastle. Jon did some laps of the Ocean Baths, which are saltwater pools next to the sea. We just sunbathed on the beach and watched the surfers. There was a nice breeze so I managed to fall asleep for a bit.

At about 5ish we left the beach and went for a nice stroll just along the coast at Nobby's lighthouse, where we took a few pics. We also saw across the harbour a beach where they did some filming for Star Wars! It also happens to be a breeding ground for Great White Sharks. Scary.

On the way back to Linda and Phil's we stopped at a bottleshop and Hannah, Vicky and I bought them a bottle of wine to say thank you.

Back at the house we showered and had a nice cold tea of chicken, mini quiches, potato salad etc, followed by
some chocolate brownies and millionaires shortbread which Jon had made - they were very nice. I miss baking!

After dinner we did the washing up and then I watched an episode of QI with Linda and Phil - it was such a treat, I've missed British telly!

We went to bed quite early, and I read some Bill Bryson for a bit before falling asleep. I slept so well with my cosy duvet - the first time I've used a quilt since I left home in January!
