I arrived in Singapore just before Christmas only spending 2 nights there just to get a little taster. I really enjoyed it here, very clean, modern and efficient transport systems. It also have stunning architecture which was even more impressive at night. Some people I've spoken to found it a little too sterile with all the rules but I felt safe and enjoyed my time there. I mean if you like shopping, eating and drinking, I'm pretty sure you'll have fun here. I stayed in a very cute boutique hostel called Sleepy Sams in the Kampung Glam district. It was very close to the Sultan Mosque which meant we were woken up every morning at 5am for morning prays!

My first evening in Singapore I took the underground system all the way to the Boat Quay and had dinner overlooking the beautiful lights of the quayside. The food was lush although I wasn't prepared for Singpore prices after just being in Thailand, Cambodia, Loas and Vietnam and it was a bit of a shock to the system when my dinner came to around $35 (nearly 20 English pounds :S ).

The next morning I treated myself to a morning shopping on the famous Orchard Road and took full advantage of the Christmas sales (bought myself a lovely little bag for Sydney :D). Then just wandered round the city going to look at the Raffles hotel and the original landing site

That night I met up with Camby & Emily who'd I'd met on the trip round Indochina and we went to the Night safari. We stood and watched some tribal dancers doing a fire routine and they ended up getting Emily up, was hilarious. After we saw another couple of shows, one included hyenas & a huge python :S The night safari was pretty cool, we had to sit on a train that took us round the park which had tigers, rhinos, elephants, giraffes and a lot of deer lol!

My little stop in Singapore was short and sweet. Really enjoyed it, the city is beautiful and is definitely a happening place, would love to stop off again for another shopping spree!!!
