Day 42 8th jan
We leave the hotel on the bike in search of a floating bridge... I'd seen pictures on the internet and wanted to cross one.... There basically a bamboo road that floats on plastic drums....
I've searched google maps and think I've located one a few miles up the road so off we go.... We just amble along, stopping for fuel before we arrive at the location on the map..... There's no bridge..... Instead of turning around we just keep going along this road that is leading us out of town towards the surrounding rice paddies... Before long we pass a family if water buffalo that are in a small lake area next to the road.... Shiree stops to take a few photos before we continue to the end if the road.... Here we find a beach.... Its perfect.... Nice sand and palm trees so we hope off for a quick look around before continuing along the road we've been traveling in.... We have now left Hoi An and just ride, with the sandy beach to our left... We keep going passed lots of hotel construction sights and ave thusly arrive at the end if the road.... We are in a sand port, which offer a boat crossing to a little island... We turn around and notice a snake crossing the road... It whizz's across and hides in a clump of grass before retreating further under a fence as Shiree chases it... Camera in hand....
We return to Hoi An and after leaving the bike at the hotel we wonder through all the offers from shop sellers to the central river, where on the far side of the river Shiree spots a lavazza coffee sign so we head over for a coffee....
The food that's getting served looks impressive so we study the menu with an eye on returning tonight....
We spend the afternoon just walking the streets if Hoi An... It has three architectural areas... One Japanese, one French and one Chinese, but telling them apart is not so easy...
We find ourselves back at the tailors as we need to collect our second clothes order... We are both really pleased with what we've got made, the only issue now is there's more to carry.....
We drop the clothes off at the hotel and pack our bags ready for tomorrow's departure before going back to the restaurant we had coffee in earlier today.... I end up having a burger, which is a very unusual menu choice for me.... But I must say.... It was the best burger I've every eaten.. It was perfect in every way... Even the bun was nice... I think the mango sauce had a large part to play in this though....
