Six months on the road today! Didn't really do too much, but it was a productive day as I managed to send three large boxes of stuff home with the help of a nice Slovakian man who was standing behind me at the post office who acted as interpreter for me.
I also went out for lunch with Tim at the Grill place and then spent the rest of the afternoon in the hotel reception on the internet after having to give up my room. At about 8pm it was time to leave and get the electric train down to Poprad station to get the train up to Prague, it still feels really strange to be running the tour in the opposite direction, as by the stop going the other way we are heading for Budapest and the end of the tour, not the start.
I marched my group up to the tiny little Novy Smokovec station in the dark, the station which is literally a wooden box by the side of the track. We waited for the train and then sat there for the forty or so minute ride down to Poprad. As the Electric train and the international train don't really meet up too well, we now had about an hour to wait.
Tim, Teddy and I went for a walk until it was time to get on the train. We headed down to the tracks and boarded the train. Six sleeper carriages again and all in the same carriage. I don't know about how the other groups felt, but as I was finally in a carriage with the group and not by myself it didn't actually seem as bad as usual. It never is when you have people you know who you can laugh about the situation with.
We stayed up for a while chatting before making up the beds and going to sleep.

Tim That was a good idea to mail a pile of stuff home then. Did the same. Nový Smokovec, a very pleasant alpine stay. Quiet and relaxing compared to the rest of the Budapest to Moscow leg.
