The wind was no better today, but I decided to go down to Kamari beach anyway. I trooped off up the hill in the heat and the wind to the bus stop and caught the first bus that came along to Kamari.
You may remember, that Kamari is where I encountered Stefan, my little holiday romance from my last trip to Santorini. When I arrived at Kamari, I walked down to the beach, only to find that it was too choppy to swim. I could see Stefan, from a distance still working in the same restaurant he picked me up in. I was too terrified to talk to him, at least without an excuse for being there. With the sea in that condition, I didn't have the excuse of having come down here for a swim.
I don't know why I needed an excuse, but I didn't feel great about interrupting him while he was working to talk to him. If he sees me and he wants to talk to me he will I thought. I decided to get the bus back to Fira and then onto Oia, to have a look around before the tourist hoards arrived for the glorious sunset. The little village was still very cute in the heat of the day, although it did seem over run with Russians, whom I'm definitely not a fan of.
I took some really nice pictures of the vantage point over the town before heading off to find some lunch. I ordered pork, but what I got didn't even closely resemble pork. I actually think it was tuna. They tried to convince me it was pork, but anyone who knows me, knows I can't be fooled when it comes to pork products. Whatever it was, it turned out to be quite nice anyway.
After I had my late lunch, I got the bus back to Karterados and watched a bit of TV and had a swim in the hotel pool, before heading off to bed.
