On to the next party destination this morning and I am up at 7am with no hang over and no issues. It's not too far and the sea is not too bad, this is a good thing as approximately 90% of our passengers are hung over. The sun has come out, which means we can stop for a swim stop and most people can get rid of their hang overs.
We pull into Hvar and again I am given a quick whip round by Janice, this place is really small and there doesn't seem to be a lot to it and I won't be back here until I start with Med Experience anyway. We head back to the boat and another Sail Croatia boat pulls in, Amadeus. The scene is horrific, twenty, eighteen year olds, all on the top deck, all half naked, music blaring and drunk as hell. Janice elbows me and says, Are you ready to deal with situations like that? Pointing at the ship. It's horrific, yet I can't turn away. I say back to Janice.
Our next stop is the police station as one of the girls on Mlini has lost her iphone while drunk at Dos Locos last night. We have to say it was stolen so she can make a claim on her travel insurance. We arrive at the police station and no one wants to help us, because after all it happened on Korcula, not Hvar. We eventually get taken upstairs and sat down with one of the police and he asks for ID, the client doesn't have any so Janice races back to the boat to get it. While she is gone, the previously unhelpful policeman turns to me and says, Why you say nothing? With a cheeky grin on his face, I don't want to get in the way, I say back. What ensues next can only be called flirting as I talk to the policeman and he answers me back in a cheeky manner. I smile coyly at him and he laughs at me. Janice comes back to find a now very helpful policeman and while it still takes ages to get the report it does happen. A smile gets you everywhere no matter where you are in the world. (Except Russia!)
We leave the police station and our guest is happy with the outcome and gives me a cheeky grin as she goes back to the boat to get ready for dinner. I go back to Mlini, which is parked five boats deep and then remember I have seen cheap cigars in a stationary store of all places and clamber back over all the boats in search of them. In the shop they have the same one euro cigars as they did in my favourite truck stop in Germany, they also had the brand of Cuban's I smoke at home that cost twenty five bucks a pop only here they were only forty kuna, which isn't even five bucks. I loaded up and went back to the boat.
I sat on the front of the boat by myself for a while smoking a little cigar and drinking my Jack Daniels before I was joined by Bobo who continued to try to chat me up. I had noticed in the last day or two, he had dialled things back a bit, so maybe someone had said something to him. Eventually, I went back to the back of the boat and sat with the rest of the guys, Toni wanted me to put his song on, a send up of Bosnian's that he had found on uTube and which I had managed to now download from itunes. I am from Bosnia, take me to America, he sang along with the song, I really want to see, statue of liberty, he starts dancing around.
Toni eventually stopped dancing around and sat down with me while I was smoking my next cigar, you're making me look bad, smoking that thing, and I've only got cigarettes. Have one then I offered and we sat smoking together. Ivan also came over and sat with us and had a bit of a sniff of one of my cigars, he went to put it back in the packet and I told him he could have it. Toni had to translate as he barely speaks any English. Thanks! He said, giving me a cute grin. Bobo and Zvorne the chef also joined us and we all sat there smoking and drinking. Bobo decided to make us all a liquid cocaine each. It's a shot containing a lot of absinth that you first dip your fingers into the bright green liquid, take the shot and then press your soaked fingers up against your upper lip and inhale strongly. Talk about a wake up.
After my shot of liquid cocaine, I broke out one of my big cigars and got another Jack Daniels. Toni accused me of slobbering too much on the end of my cigar. Amateur, I said as I dunked the mouth end of the cigar into my whiskey and inhaled the smoke through the alcohol, that's not what it is. Toni looked vaguely impressed, let's see if you can drink with us then, he said. All week I hadn't been able to stop looking at Toni, who is about six foot five tall, very well built, short black hair and the most piercing blue eyes I think I've ever seen. On top of all this, throw in a wickedly cheeky attitude and a smile that would knock the breath out of any woman.
Eventually, Toni said Lets go out! Which was for the best, because it was getting on for midnight and I was supposed to meet Janice and the guests at Nautica Bar ages ago. It looked as if all five of us were about to head out and we clambered across all the boats and I strolled casually into the night club with five handsome sailors. Janice bounced up to me, Look at you with the boys then! She said with a cheeky smile. Toni came up to me and the guys with a round of shots, Rakija, what else. The five of us knocked them back together and then more seemed to appear. I hung around at Nautica until the guys left, it was just some clicky nightclub, with people who were over dressed and drinking expensive cocktails. Not really my scene to tell the truth. I went for a little walk around the marina before heading back to the boat.
