Up before the sun this morning, went for a walk see if we could get a rabbit, Ellie was pretty keen, didn't see any though saw where they'd been. Drove down to the beach and used their toilets, it is a really beautiful beach. Then drove around to Hopetoun, an amazing place full of new developments and homes, many looked empty, we later learnt that BHP Billiton had built most of them as they had a mine nearby. Had a good night last night at Peace Park among the other free loaders. Checked the Post office this morning and finally my replacement phone had arrived, took a couple of hours setting it up and we are away again. Went to the library for a while, wrote cards for Thomas and Maddy then left Esperance heading west. Went to the Village market this morning, a pretty normal sort of a country market. Rose was really impressed with the ladies selling Doughnuts for $1.00 each, we checked the equipment they were using and figured we would try and buy that setup when we get home, it would be really good for money raising events. Went down to the beach this morning with fishing gear in hand, went for quite a walk but couldn't find a decent spot to fish. Threw the line a few times but no success, kept getting snagged. Later in the morning we headed back to Esperance and booked into the Bushland Caravan Park ($22.00). Then went shopping, I had broken the tip off my rod so went to the fishing shop in the Woolworths complex. The guy in there took my rod and fixed it with a new tip all for $5...

Washed and cleaned up this morning. Then drove west about 70kms and in to Quagi Beach, a well known bush camping spot with a toilet and an honesty box to pay $2.00 per night. You get in there on a narrow bush track and every 50 metres or so there is a clearing in the bush for one campsite, and there are all sorts of vans and of course the German Tourists in clapped out Toyotas.
