One week to go. Packed my bags for the 3rd time today, safe in the knowledge that the airline are allowing me 10kg extra weight for no extra cost - therefore total of 30kg. It's a relief as my combined bags weight came to 29kg. Woo-hoo! Relief!
It's my final weekend at work - the much-loved Corner House Bar and Restaurant. It has been very good for me, reigniting a love for Wells which I didn't really have before. I have enjoyed the last 20 months, although being a conscientious worker i often found it difficult to relax. After a while, seeing others relax, when i couldn't really, got to me. I look forward to more sociable hours in the future, and a job that frees up the weekends again.
I used the local knowledge and tapped the coffers of regulars in order to fund my trip. In the end, I raised enough money to pay for my flight, insurance and several items for the kids (books, sticker albums, trainers). I also have around £150 extra to spend when I get to Mwanza on further items, depending on what is needed.
Having been to Andy's stag events last weekend, I now have his and Becky's wedding to look forward to next Friday. Then it's one night's sleep before heading off to Heathrow on Saturday.
Please feel free to send me goodwell messages now and while I am away. These will be vital to keep me going and remind me of home.
Love
Phil
