Was up bright, early and hangover free this morning! I then spent a bit of the morning organising a couch surfing request with a girl Brieanne in Orlando, looks like it's all going to come together too! My Alcatraz tour was at 12:00 so headed out about 11:15 and ended up meeting Lucas at 11:30 at the pier, we were soon in the queue and talking to an English couple who were really nice and asked about my travels, the boat ride over was pretty awesome but super windy so got a few snaps then got back into a sheltered area. We arrived on Alcatraz and had a brief talk from Ranger Matt who worked with the national park association with Alcatraz. After the talk we went to a little cinema room and watched a short film about Alcatraz and found out some really interesting stuff. When the film was finished we walked up to the cell blocks and got a self guided audio tour, we followed the tour around and learnt and saw a ton of really awesome, interesting stuff, we saw a bar bender used in an escape attempt and also saw were 3 guys tunnelled through part of a wall and used fake heads in their beds to cover their escape! We saw a vast majority of the island and then when the tour was over we decided to head back to San Fran and got a snack at Maccys as I was craving a bit of meat, we watched a few local spray artists make some incredible paintings, if I was heading home anytime soon I would have definitely bought one! We had a walk around fisher mans wharf again and watched a stage performer who specialised in juggling, not as good as the magic chap but still good to watch. We then walked to china town where I found the singlet I wanted to buy so snatched that up, we both decided to head back to our hostels so we said our goodbyes and parted ways! I ventured back to hostel and met the Irish chaps again, popped to the shop and got a few things for dinner and cooked up some grub. We then had a few social games of beer pong again but I only had a few cans this evening as had to check out tomorrow and didn't want to be feeling like trash!
