We have arrived in Singapore and what a contrast to Cambodia! The two places couldn't be any more different but at least Phonm Penh was cheap, which Singapore is certainly not! Our two Sinapore Slings in Raffles cost S$54 (about 20 quid). The weather here is glorious though and not as humid. It reminds us of Hong Kong. We are sightseeing for a few days and then heading north to Kuala Lumpur, if we can book a train or bus somewhere?

A six hour bus journey took us from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, it rained as we arrived again! Siem Reap is a small town mostly developed to serve the tourists that visit the nearby Angkor Wat temples. They even have a street full of bars and restaurants called "Pub Street" Our guesthouse is tucked away off the main street and we have made good use of the swimming pool. We had a great time in Saigon but left early yesterday to endure the six hour bus ride to Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The border was great fun, just what we were used to in Africa! We traveled south from Denang to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) on Tuesday and have been pleasantly surprised, it's just as busy as Hanoi if not busier but the town is far more modern and the streets much wider. We had a great day today, we visited Cua Dai Beach, to the East of Hoi An. We hired a moped from a lady across the street from the Hotel. When I say hired, we gave her 70,000 Dong (£2) and she gave us the keys to a moped, a litre of petrol in a plastic bottle and two helmets!
