The past few days in Melbourne have been great and iv decided that it is one of the best cities iv ever been to. I dont know why i feel that way but it just has that buzz of having something going on all the time, this may partly be due to fact that the International Comedy Festival is going on though.
The past few days have been, like i said before, amazing. Iv had wanders round town taking in the sights (most of which seem to be free) and its cheap to get around as there is a free tram that does a circle of the city in about 45mins. Being a tight fisted Scotsman this may be why i love Melbourne. I went to see a few (free) open air comedy shows that i have to say werent bad at all, however i was VERY glad that i wasnt sitting near the front as a few unfortunate people were singled out and dragged on stage. I did make this mistake one night when i went to a comedy show, at the hostel where i am staying, by sitting bang at the front and have to say i was getting a tad embarresed at times. All worth it though as for $5 i got a glass of Chanpagne and free book worth $10 at the end, didnt sound like a bad deal to me!
I have just got back from dinner with family friends Bob and Jackie Cox and they have very kindly offered to let me stay for a couple of nights at there house. They live just outside of the CBD in a stunning place with a pool! Yes! Unfortuantly i have booked into my hostel untill Thursday and dont think they do refunds, so on Thursday i will head out to their place for a few days until i find a ride along the Great Ocean Road, fingers crossed everyone.
Neighbours night tomorrow! Karl here i come!
