Right now im relaxing in Byron Bay before the 12 hour (yes, 12 hours!) bus journey straight to Sydney. Byron Bay is possibly the most chilled out place iv ever visited, im staying a famous hostel called The Arts Factory which is brilliant. A bit more expensive than the usual but well worth it for the atmosphere, everyone seems to talk to everyone else and just last night i met loads of great people. If i had more time id definatly stay here for longer.
Today i met a really nice Swiss guy called Simon so me and him went to the beach and chilled there for the afternoon before getting a Pizza on the way home. A great day out. Tomorrow i think will be rougly the same but as well as relaxing, i'll be stocking up on supplies for the bus ride.
Like i said before Byron is a great place but a little on the hippie side of things. Iv lost count of the number of VW camper vans iv seen that have been spray painted all over and there are more than a few shops in the street selling 'relaxing' herbs. Just beside the pizza place is a shop called Happy High Herbs...we didnt go in but took an educated guess of what they were mainly selling. The funny thing is that apparently a place called Nimbin about 50km to the west is even more alternative than here! I just have to watch what odd food i get offered...
