Today was our Grand Canyon day. We left Flagstaff (leaving behind our favourite shower and exciting beds). our first stop was the Cameron Trading Post...this specialises in Native American crafts and artwork...we did a bit of shopping. Then it was on to the Grand Canyon. Our first glimpse was from a point called the Tower. Words cannot not express the size and grandeur of this place...and grand goes no where near explaining it. We then experienced our first corndog which was mighty pleasant. Then we went down into the town area to checkout some more spectacular views...and boy they were ! But the absoulte highlight of the day had to be our helicopter flight...it was beyond awesome....while there was some slight intrepidation at the start we both had an absolute ball...loving every minute of the flight. it was weird as it was raining until we started flying over the Canyon and then just suddenly stopped so we have some great pictures...both in photos and the experiences in our head. Unfortunately we will have to wait until tomorrow to post the photos as we are in an area with very limited service. We are suffering a fair bit from being so high (above 7000 feet) and the altitude has made us rather weary...this was most evident after climbing the tower where we both felt like our legs had turned to jelly. Heading out this evening to check out the sunset...hopefully will be able to post photos tomorrow.
