Pete's Adventures
We head straight into the sea to cool off, a clearer view of Denang in the background. We float around chatting, the water the perfect temperature, Emma telling me about some of the swimming competitions she has entered. Too choppy to swim today, especially with contact lenses in but nice to be in the water (LT)
We catch some rays and just as I write this the music begins with some Vietnamese singer warbling over the tanoy. Surely enough its 4pm.
Emma goes looking for clothes and I head back to the hotel. From a balcony at the end of my floor, I sit and watch kids learning kungfu in the temple grounds where we sat last night having a cheeky beer. We head into the old town, looking at clothea and then head to the market with lanterns looking for authentic food. Finding a little restaurant, we sit at the little plastic seats and order a selection of dishes - Cau Lau, Beef Pho, Pork sticks which come with rice paper and vegetables. Tucked away at the back some locals are gambling with an unknown game on a mobile phone. All holding cash, not sure what the game is but seems serious enough. We find a new pub tonight called Mo's Tavern and sit outside. Drinking cocktails we get speaking to a Scottish couple and 3 guys from Bristol. A power cut happens across town and the owners fetch a generator. Slowly but surely power is restored. We hear about a club called Brown Eyes and grab motorbikes to it. The Scottish couple come along. The 2 of us sit outside in our own world, an odd club tucked away but a good night.
