I set my alarm to get up to see Emma off but my alarm fails to go off on my new awful phone. I am glad though as that would have been one of the saddest goodbyes on my trip so far. I go for one last breakfast and I will miss her company dearly. I was so glad we got to do the Hai van pass trip together. I check out of the hotel and leave my bag for a last walk around. After last night the heat is unbearable so I find a small cafe for a mango smoothie and banana pancake. A simple meal and it helps wake me up. I head to Denang after saying goodbye to the lovely hotel staff. Only an hour away, I wait for my delayed Vietcon flight. Apparently always delayed. I check into the Sunflower hotel, a bit too posh for me but a nice send off to Nam. I dump my bags and go looking for the night market. Eventually finding it a Pho bo cheers me up but not the same without Emma's company. I hopelessly get lost on the way back as the well lit streets are dark now. I watch an amusing street scuffle. A drunk man is having small stools, pots and pans thrown at him by the old lady that runs the place. She can certainly look after herself and I'm sure the guy will have bruises tomorrow far worse than his hangover. Rats are everywhere at this time of night and I watch them scurry to drains and hidden corners. Eventually I find the darkly lit hotel. The bed provides the comfiest sleep in ages(LT).
