Phew, still alive!
An uneventful breakfast which was a bit of a free for all over the buffet style layout. We walked this off with a stroll to the Metropole Hotel to confirm our Friday reservation at Joel Rubichon restaurant. The Metropole looks like a very very nice hotel.
An afternoon relaxing by the pool, glorious sunshine and a couple of cold beers were well needed.
Dinner was at Le Grill, Hotel de Paris. Heidi is a regular here and she had booked a table by the window overlooking the harbour. This restaurant is immaculate as are the waiters, the smartest and most attentive so far. The grill was a splendid central attraction, so we decided on grilled Lobster for me and baby Chicken for Heidi, both cooked in front of a furnace like grill. Both were tender and succulent. We had a glass of cote de Provence. We could not be more pleased with the service throughout. This was a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. To finish off we had Heidi's favourite, Soufflé with Grand Marnier - it was delicious. This has been my favourite dining experience of the holiday so far. Everything was just perfect. We headed downstairs to The American Bar for an Apple Vodka Martini with an eclectic Jazz trio playing - this was people watching at its best, glamour and style mixed with a quiet sophistication.
