Pedro's Mission
It was a busy three days in Chiang Mai for me. It wasn't quite as humid as Bangkok in the actual city but it was a great big sweat fest in the jungle. I had three days here and I had a lot to pack into them but managed to do everything I wanted to. I had a ride on an elephant (no not Jon's mum Billy) one of the days. I was going to sit on Dumbo's neck but once I saw the steep hills the poor b***** had to go up and down I thought better of it and retreated to the back (no gay jokes please). It wasn't the most comfortable experience I've ever had but it was much kinder to my meat and two veg than the camel was in the Sahara!! Afterwards I headed to a big waterfall in full flow via a few tribal villages. I was going to have a dip in the waterfall, but as soon as I saw a tree snake slither out of the water I soon changed my mind. Also whilst in Chiang Mai I did something I had always wanted to do................................... white water rafting!! It only lasted about 45 minutes but it was well worth it. I was assured that the c*** eyed, 15 year old looking Thai bloke who was steering our vessel had been up and down this stretch hundreds of times, but after 5 minutes when we almost capsized and almost lost the Chinese people (there is over a billion of them so it would not have been a great loss) I was not so sure. It was a great laugh never the less. After the white water rafting we did a spot of bamboo rafting.
Other than that, all I did in Chiang Mai was have a few beers and venture to the night market.
