I got my first flight since I first starting travelling from Guilin to Bangkok. It was delayed but the food they gave me was pretty good for airline food. I arrived at my hostel at 2 in the morning and I think I may of woken a few people up when I got into the dorm. It has happened to me a few times so I wasn't really bothered. The next day I went to Chatuchak weekend market where my old man had his wallet stolen. Having been pick pocketed before in Prague (I got my money back though) I always keep a firm grip of my wallet in crowded areas. The market had to be one of the hottest, most sweatiest places I have ever been to, but it didn't stop me from haggling and buying some dirt cheap clothes. I think I spent about GBP8.00 on 3 t-shirts, a pair of shorts, 2 hats, some flip flops, thongs, whatever you call them and loads and loads of water. I think I did alright for my first time. If I had of bought all this stuff in England it would have easily have come to a ton. In the evening I watched a few Premiership games with a guy called Nick from Brentford.
The next day me and Nick went on a small tour to do one of the this I love doing the most........................... walking around temples. It had to be done I suppose. I can't be bothered to tell you which ones they were as I now hate churches and temples so you'll have to see the photos when I upload them. After that excitement we headed to Lumphini Park and saw loads of Thai's doing some weird exercise thing. We then went to the night market across the road and picked up some more bargains. I love this haggling game! In the evening we watched Spurs beat Portsmouth 2-1 with a spectacular dive from Zakora!!
Before heading to Chiang Mai the next day we went to a restaurant called Cabbages and Condoms where they give you a free condom after your meal instead of an after eight. Pretty cool, but not as cool as the condom carpet or the condom suit they had though. I hope they were'nt used ones??!! We then got a Tuk Tuk (I love Tuk Tuk's they are awesome) to the snake farm to see a verity of poisonous snakes like the King Cobra and tree snake. I then headed to Chiang Mai at 2200hrs.
Upon my return to Bangkok after 3 nights in Chiang Mai I met a bloke called make from London somewhere and headed to Khaosan Road for some tucker. After we saw a few more of those lovely temples, went on a boat and had a cruise up and down the river. My favorite sight was the dead dog floating in the river. It was a purple colour for those of you who are interested. In the evening we watched a piss poor England match. Before catching the bus to Koh Phangan on the Sunday me, Mark and a Yankee went to the weekend market and I picked up a few more bargains. My bag is now full.
