After all the crap I had to put up with trying to get out of Singapore I made it to this convict colony and headed to my hostel in Kings Cross passing several sex joints, hookers and Abo’s along the way. I didn’t really do too much in Sydney this time around as I plan to head back there next year sometime and maybe work. I spent 4 nights in Sydney before heading up to the Blue Mountains for 5 nights and then heading back to Sydney for another 2 nights.
On the first full day I had in Sydney I made my way to Circular Quay to see the Harbour Bridge, the Rocks and the Opera House with what seemed like half the population of Japan and Germany. I knew from the last time I was in OZ that there would be an abundance of snap happy Japs, but what’s the deal with all the sour kraut eating, sausage munchers? After having a butchers around the harbour I had a wander around the botanical gardens and had a nap on the grass. In the evening I went out with a few people from the hostel and enjoyed an hour of free drinks at a place called the Gaff that reminded me of House of Commons in the Bourne. As I got smashed, the next day was a complete write off. The morning after the day after the night before I went to Darling Harbour had a walk around and went to Sydney Aquarium to see some fish and stuff. Needless to say there were millions of Japs there. The next day I got the ferry from Circular Quay and headed to Manly Beach for the day. It wasn’t the warmest of days so the beach was pretty empty. The next day I left Sydney for 5 nights and went to the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains were good apart from the fact it was cold, foggy and it rained for 4 of the 5 days I was there!!! I did managed to get in a few bush walks and see the Three Sisters dispite the poor weather conditions. I spent another 2 nights in Sydney after the Blue Mountains as I had to wait until the Friday to go on a tour I wanted to do. I didn’t get up to much except sink a few beers with a bloke from the hostel.
