Pedro's Mission
After 3 nights in Shaghai I made the 2 hour train journey south to Hangzhou, which is pretty lame considering some of the mammoth train journeys I have been on in the last couple of months. My hostel was located on the opposite side of the lake to the city which was good as it meant that it was relatively peaceful. When I got to the hostel I had a quick look around where I was staying and headed back to the hostel and met up with Paul and Linda again (I think they've been following me), had a few beers and played cards.
The next day I went to the Flower Nursery next to my hostel, had a butchers at some flowers, bonzi (might have spelt that wrong) trees and the water fall and had a sleep by the pond in the shade. It's such a hard life being a traveler! After I all that hard work I decided to go and sit by the West Lake on one of the causeways. In the evening there was a Chinese play at the hostel. I watched it for about 5, saw some bloke doing some strange things to a horse and decided it was time to go.
On the Wednesday I ventured to the other side of the lake, got my train ticket back to Shanghai and wandered about until dusk. There was a great deal to do on "the other side" apart from look around the shops and have loads of Chinese people look at me like they've never seen a white person before! It was amusing to begin with but now it is irritating!!!!! Yes I am white and yes I am about 2 foot taller than all you midgets. On Thursday I decided to walk around the West Lake to see the pagoda and went back into town for some grub. All I did for my last 2 days in Hangzhou was mosey around the West Lake and chill out before my mammoth train journey to Guilin.
