We got back to camp earlier than we thought after seening the gorillas and decided to move on to Lake Bunyoni and hopefully some drier weather. It took us another 5 hours to drive the 50 miles dack down the dirt road and then the main road took us through some beautiful scenery to Kibale. The final leg of the drive to the Lake was another 8k of very badly potholed dirt drack and by the time we ended the day's drive my head was pounding so much I was sick when I got to the campsite. It was just like having been on a very bumpy ride at a theme park with your head rolling from side to side for hours on end.
The beautiful location more than made up for the effort of getting there and the camp had cottages and tents on platforms high over the lake as sleeping alternatives. They had an attractive restaurant and bar with a big campfire and is considered to be one of the best places in Uganda. We stayed for three nights but unfortunately again being high up in rain forest near to volcanoes the weather was overcast with several torrential down pours whilst we were there which was a bit disappointing considering the beautiful location.
