Pete and Lou's Big Adventure
Hello from 2 weary travellers. Why weary - we just spent 22 hrs on a train from Alice Springs. It wasnt too bad. We had too get new seats though as we werent sitting together and the nice frenchman next too lou wouldnt move. Nice Guy! Here we had nice food and saw a wicked sunset over the outback. See the photos, they dont do it justice though.
We have had a great time in Adelaide. i dont know why people dont speak higher of the place. It has a feel of a small town but the facilities of a large city withough the rat race of say sydney. Whilst we had a fab time here it didnt start all that well. Our first night was disturbed by a typical american - loud and in your face. After abit of a heated discussion to put it mildlyat about 3 in the morning he left for the night.
After getting acquainted with out new roomies Brett and Bec we spent a few days thouring the sites of Adelaide. This included a fab Opal mine. Errr not!!!We also spent time chilling out at the hostel playing pool(free) and enjoying the wed night bbq (also free). We planned a trip too the local chocolate factory but never got there as we were sufferingabit from a night out with Brett, Bec and 2 irish lasses Gina and Lucy (hi guys hows the job hunting).
Whilst we were here Lou had here 23rd birthday - for whcih she got a posh new hair do paid for by yours truly. It was what she wanted honest! I also cooked dinner - fish fingers, chips and beans. Yummy. My choice! The next day i had the misfortune to misplace our wallet with all our cards and cash - opps. Needless to say i was less than popular as this meant canceling everything. Fortunately lou had her bank card so became a kept man for a while! Like it! Now that we have enjoyed Adelaide itself, we head to Glenelg for some beach time and then into the barossa valley for some wine!
Cheers for now,
