Westminster Abbey was an absolute surreal experience. I left the hostel early enough that I had the church to myself. The importance of churches in Europe is so strange to an American. Churches back home usually are industrial-looking buildings, with some cheesy-looking stained glass windows. Coming to Europe, it seems like religion is on a whole other level... It is amazing what humans have built in the name of God. I guess that's enough of the "deep"...

I began the day slightly lost, I was looking for the Globe Theatre and I had an idea of the general area but no idea how to get there. As I was wandering around lost, with Hannah lagging behind me complaining, I wondered why I brought her along. I would get angry at me and demand to see the map, and after attempting to navigate she would get frustrated and toss the map back at me. I began the morning standing in line at the Billy Elliot box office, but I was unable to buy tickets within my price range, so I headed down to Leister Square in search of tickets. Louis and I had another semi-successful conversation at breakfast this morning. I set off early for the National Gallery, only after a quick photo-op in front of the Trafalgar Square Lions.
