There is an amazing lightening storm on right now. I haven't seem a show like this since I was a little girl. I remember being fascinated by lighting storm which are very common on the summer in Ontario. Tonight's lightening is actually sheet lightening and it's lighting up the whole sky. It's not amazing in terms of it's colours but it's sheer brightness. The wind had picked up and no doubt the rain will start falling soon.
It was a perfectly sunny morning and after breakfast Pete and I drove done to playa quepos. It's only about a two minute drive. Our landlord had told us it's good for snorkeling and we had not been there yet. It's not an easy beach to find. We'd never have found it on our own. The barbwire runs along the road and there is just the smallest opening at the bottom of a hill. Parking is just along the side of the road - somewhere were your car won't fall over the cliff. Since it was early in morning we had no trouble finding a spot. There are maybe five total. We parked and crossed the road towards the beach. There was a local standing close by the trailhead. I said beaus Dias to him which he returned. Pete walked by a sign noting that it said we were suppose to pay 4 dollars for parking. Ah ha that's what the man was doing there! Anyhow he didn't ask us for money and we were parked on the other side so I continued down the trail. We didn't have any money with us anyhow. We are so conscious of being ripped off we don't care any with us when we head to the beach. At the beach there were a couple of other locals trying to rent us snorkels, fins, kayak, chairs, etc. We politely declined. The snorkeling was bad. Very limited visibility. We didn't stay too long.
