It seems like all of our trips start with a minor upset or disruption. Little did I know this one would have two. The first one started before Ryan even got home. His school’s graduation ceremony started at 10:00am so he wasn’t coming home until afterward. No big deal. He’ll be home between 1 and 2pm so he’ll have plenty of time to pack for the trip. Morning comes to soon and we have to head to the airport. After breakfast we get the car to take us to the airport and head out. About a 1/4 mile away we find the resturant that the waitress recommended. Not exactly a short walk but the driver says it is a great resturant so we have yet another thing to put on out list of things to do next trip. Like all our Eastern bound trips, this on starts with an early morning flight to JFK. This time it is pretty uneventful. Unless you count watching the US Women's World Cup Final until we have to catch the flight to Amsterdam, getting updates on Chris' phone until we're on the plane only to lose just before take off. Bummer. Then we get a text from Paige saying the Girl she is filling in for just went into labor so she'll be at work in the morning ...

Well, we made it back to the cactus in tact. No one was overly sick or hurt. Overall the food was fantastic, only a few ropey meals. The sights and memories are everlasting. Even better was that with all the eating, balanced with all the walking, I didn't gain any weight. Just goes to show that if you balance calories in with calories out, you really can maintain. I have to give a shout out to the travel agent that helped with this trip... without Anne Rose ...
